Napoli coach Antonio Conte says a win over a powerful Bologna side will boost his team’s confidence.

The Naples giants got off to a disappointing start to the season as they were thrashed by Verona, but they made up for it on Sunday night with a 3-0 win over Bologna thanks to goals from Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Pasquale Mazzocchi.

Conte was very please with his team’s performance in the game, saying that victory over a strong opponent would greatly boost the team’s confidence.

“I liked the attitude of the players when they played against Bologna, who are well organise and have qualified for the Champions League. We beat a very good team so it gives us a lot of confidence, a lot of self-belief and we realise that we can do anything together,” Conte told Ufabet.

“This victory is important beyond the three points because Promotion Ufabet we haven’t won at Maradona for a long time. So I asked the fans to be our 12th or 13th player and everyone is important for us.”

With their three points against Bologna, Napoli snapped their eight-match winless streak in the league.

Their previous Serie A home win dated back to beginning of March, when they beat Juventus 2-1 with a last-gasp Giacomo Raspadori winner.

“The boys played above their quality. They showed great heart and courage. This is what our fans want to see.”
