Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was please with the performance of new striker Julian Alvarez in the 3-0 win over Girona, despite not scoring.
Alvarez made his first start for Atletico Madrid against Girona in La Liga on Sunday after joining from Manchester City this summer.
The Argentine striker was yet to get on the scoresheet, with Atletico Madrid’s three goals coming from Antoine Griezmann, Marcos Llorente and Koke.
Simeone said of his new signing’s performance: “Julian works hard for the team, makes runs to get us the ball back and attacks immediately.”
“He was involve in the second goal and of course he wants to score like Sorloth and he will do it.”
Atlético Madrid’s coach, Diego Simeone, expressed his confidence in Julián Álvarez, highlighting that he knows “exactly” what the player can bring to the team, following their 3-0 win against Girona at the Cívitas Metropolitano.
“Key players make things happen; people come to the stadium to watch them and expect something special. We know what Julián’s got. We know all that he can offer us. We’re going to make the most of his best qualities. We’re convince we’ve got a player with an incredible present and future. We just need to build that connection, which will come through games, training… He’s only been here a short time,” Simeone assessed.
The Atletico Madrid boss also spoke about his UFABET current striker selection, saying: “We see Griezmann, Alvarez and Sorloth playing together. We are considering Alvarez with Sorloth, Sorloth with Griezmann or all three of them playing together with Alvarez and Griezmann playing on the flanks.”
